The Journey Begins

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Good company, I mean, in the form of a book.

I have done a bit of traveling in my short time here on Earth. On all of my journeys, I loved to pick up a book from a local bookstore or a mini free library. Sometimes it’s simply a rack of books that people want to trade, nestled in the basement next to the laundry room, or outside of a town cafe, or in the snug reading room on a cruise ship.  Whenever I open the cover of a book, I wonder where it has been, and, when I return it, where it’s going to go. So, this idea, ten years in the making, finally sees light in the form of a little website with a cute logo that I designed.  It’s not sophisticated but it does the job.

All you have to do is fill out this form, and your data point will show up on the map above! Your information will not be shared with anyone and will obviously not make anyone any money. If you’d like to include a note or a photo for others to see, that is up to you!

Help me document your books’ travels. After all, our books take us on journeys to faraway places, the least we can do is take them on ours.
